IMPORTANT Financial Aid News!!

  • Effective 2012-2013 aid year, there have been recent changes in law that impact federal student aid programs and may affect your financial aid awards. Read more on this.


  • 2013-2014 FAFSA on the Web now available! Complete if attending the Summer 2013, Fall 2013, Winter 2014, Spring 2014 and/or Summer 2014 semesters.  The filing deadline for the 2013-2014 FAFSA is June 30, 2014. The priority filing deadline for the 2013-2014 FAFSA for GCC is April 1, 2013.

  • 2013-2014 CAL GRANT:  The first deadline to apply for a NEW Cal Grant “B” (Entitlement and Competitive grants) or a Cal Grant “C” is March 2, 2013. A second deadline for community college student only to apply for a NEW Cal Grant “B” (Competitive grant only) is SEPTEMBER 2, 2013. Students with 16+ degree applicable units from GCC (with a letter grade) automatically have their GPA sent to CSAC. Students who graduated or will graduate from High School in 2012 or 2013 should have their high school submit their GPA.

  • Financial aid applications are not reviewed until they are completed and all requested forms and documents have been submitted to the office. Due to the high volume of financial aid applications this year, allow several weeks for a completed application to be processed.

  •  All award notifications are being sent out via email.  Therefore, make sure you activate your GCC email now.  Click here to activate it now!

FAFSA on the Web

The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid at Glendale Community College. It is also used to determine BOG (Board of Governors) Fee Waiver eligibility.

For students who will be attending GCC for the Summer 2012, Fall 2012, Winter 2013, Spring 2013 and/or Summer 2013 semesters the 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be completed to be considered for financial aid for the 2012-2013 award year. The filing deadling for the 2012-2013 FAFSA is June 30, 2013. The priority filing deadline for the 2012-2013 FAFSA for GCC is April 1, 2012.

Peer Advisors are available in the Financial Aid Office to assist students in completing FAFSA online worksheets. 

  • For help with the 2012-2013 worksheet, you should bring your (and your parents', if dependent) 2011 Federal Tax Return, 2011 W-2's (or final paystubs) and current bank statements.
  • For help with the 2013-2014 worksheet, you should bring you (and your parents', if dependent) 2012 IRS Tax Return, 2012 W-2's (or final paystubs) and current bank statements.

 Board of Governors Fee Waiver

The 2012-2013 Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver application is available online! 
You can print the 2012-2013 BOG Application by clicking HERE.  This form is used to apply just for the BOG Fee Waiver for the Summer 2012, Fall 2012, Winter 2013, and Spring 2013 terms at Glendale Community College.
